Eurotunnel is the market leader for cross-Channel travel between the UK and continental Europe. Since the Channel Tunnel opened in 1994, Eurotunnel has captured 60% of the tourist market and 48% of the freight market. Eurotunnel has a concession to operate the Channel Tunnel until 2086.
