Plymouth to Santander and Roscoff

Plymouth

Historically the second home of the Navy, Plymouth is located in Devon on the south coast of England, at the mouth of the River Tamar in the South West of England. Plymouth is a great access point to the continent from the North, Midlands, Wales and the West - with excellent motorway links via the M5 and M6.

Plymouth shaped the lives of Drake, the Pilgrim Fathers, Darwin, Cook and many more who set sail from her harbour.

Brittany

Try Plymouth Hoe for somewhere to visit, its where Drake played his famous game of bowls. Or you could climb up Plymouth's best-known landmark, Smeaton's Tower Lighthouse and enjoy the views over Plymouth Sound.

If you need somewhere to stay in the City has an excellent accommodation from bed and breakfasts to the luxury of four-star hotels. For shopping there are the narrow streets of the Barbican, or the modern pedestrianised City Centre, with the largest range of shops in the region.

Plymouth has modern berthing facilities for many cruise shops, a large modern passenger terminal and extensive vehicle marshalling areas to ease traffic flow. At the terminal there are also cafés for meals and refreshments, along with a bureau de change. A free car park is available for anyone leaving his or her car behind.

Assistance is available at the port for passengers with special needs; the main terminal has disabled toilet facilities and low-level pay phones. Arrangements can be made when booking or checking in for extra help.

Santander

Santander, a cosmopolitan city and regional capital, on the northern coast of Spain, has access to an impressive road network that can speed you to destinations in Spain, Portugal or the south of France. One of the prettiest bays in the world is used exclusively by Brittany Ferries.

Santander's main attractions are on the waterfront, with the Royal Magdalena Palace, Sardinero beach, gardens, and casino, making Santander a fashionable seaside resort.

With Brittany Ferries from Plymouth to Santander taking about 24 hours for the crossing, you'll quickly have access to a popular holiday resort offering award-winning sandy beaches, shopping and a host of restaurants, bars and hotels.

Roscoff

Roscoff

Roscoff is a fishing village in West Brittany, accessed by ferry from Plymouth; Roscoff has good access via toll free motorways to the rest of Brittany. A small port and tranquil fishing village, Roscoff has delightful seafood restaurants and a stunning coastline and beautiful beaches. Attractions in Roscoff include an Aquarium, Exotic Gardens, Boat Trips and the Ille de Batz.

Roscoff was the birthplace of Brittany Ferries and is still the location of it's main headquarters. Plymouth/Roscoff was the first route by Brittany Ferries. A Roscoff/Cork route was set up in conjunction with the new Plymouth/Santander route these routes were a spectacular success and still operate today.

Roscoff attractions include an Aquarium, Exotic Gardens, Boat Trips and the Ille de Batz.
